This week it’s not about the blog’s content as much as the blog’s intent. Project Donate was founded to “[gather] the Second Life community to help make a difference in the lives of people in need.” Their method is simple — no frills, no booths — just a sim with vendors that donate 50% to 100% of their cost (clearly marked) to a charity account.

Project Donate’s current donation drive goes to UNICEF (four-star charity), to aid children and families displaced by the recent floods in Pakistan. Click through to learn more.

Carol’s Style is this week’s ShopaholicFeed.com Featured Blog. We chose this blog not only for the beautiful photograhpy but for the thoroughness of the credits. 2010 SL®  Shoe Fair  to Benefit Soles4Souls

The expo is to benefit Souls4Soles, which you can read about here: http://www.soles4souls.org/

Last year’s Footwear Expo was to benefit Toys for Tots and ran November 22 to December 6th. We raised $2500 USD for the cause. This year’s event will benefit Soles4Souls and we hope to raise one million Lindens this year!

The event will run from August 7 – 22, 2010. Over 50 Shoe Designers from across the grid willl be showcasing their creations (most with new items introduced exclusively at the expo!) and helping to sponsor and support the benefit. In addition there will be a flickr photo contest, a Blogger contest, and a massive blow-out party at the end of the Expo.

We have a couple of exciting new things this year, first up Gatcha! There will be a couple of Gatcha machines on each sim with special items from Adorkable Poses, Boom, Exodi, Glitterati, Whippet & Buck, Diesel Works, Haven Designs, Stellar and Fri.day!

The other thing are our Haybalers, these are another way for non-shoe designers to sponsor the fair and offer a few goodies for sale. Look for them along the paths as you walk around the sims.

There are so many blogs that deserve recognition for consistently blogging quality content. Its often many bloggers are overlooked for their hard work and commitment to their craft. ShopaholicFeed.com will showcase a blog on the sidebar each week.

Since there are so many that fit this description, to nominate a blog leave a comment on this page with that blog’s address. All comments will remain hidden and will be reviewed. ShopaholicFeed is bringing back a new sub-feed. This one is for the Posers!  With all the buz about pose creations lately, we’ve decided to bring back the Pose feed.

Also, two of the feeds aren’t seeing a lot of traffic – Entertainment and Technologies. These two will roll into our Community feed. The community feed is for the blogs that are about SL lifestyles.  We would love to see more of these blogs join ShopaholicFeed.

We’re starting to tweak our theme as well. So don’t panic when you see elements move. Hopefully these changes will make the layout more user-friendly.
